Preparing for Easter
We are preparing for Easter in F2. On Ash Wednesday Mrs Carberry came to our class and put ashes on our foreheads. We all made a Lenten promise to be kind and to share with our friends. We each put our names on ribbon and tied it to the fence in our prayer garden.
We had a lovely day getting ready for Christmas. We made an advent wreath for the classroom and one each to take home.
Welcome to God’s Family
Zofia welcomed a new baby sister to her family. This gave us a great opportunity to think about Baptism. We invited Father David to visit us, and he showed us how he baptised babies. We wrote cards to the baby and role played baptising our F2 baby.

RE – Lenten Reflection Day
This term, we have had many reflection and retreat days. We have just had our Lenten reflection day where we spent time thinking of how we can grow in love and share that love with others. We created individual Lenten promises and, during our class reflection at the end of the day, we shared our promises with each other. Both classes have enjoyed spending time with Francis, the school chaplain, who also taught us how we can grow to be like Jesus.
Father David kindly visited us and spoke to us about Baptism and its meaning. We found out that it means being ‘welcomed’ into God’s family. He helped us act out a pretend Baptism and showed us some of the objects that may be used as part of a Baptism ceremony. We then showed Father David some of our Baptism photos and special keepsakes from our own ceremonies.
During this topic, we found out that God knows our names and that He loves us all. Here we are, having some prayerful reflection time.
