2016-2017 Season
Football 2016-17 season
The boys in the school football team have now played their final game of the season and maintained their fantastic winning spree! Over the course of the season, they've played 10 games and dropped only 2 points, with an amazing 9 wins and 1 draw!
Their final game was a hard-fought battle against Bentinck, the only team to take points from them all season, but the boys didn't take long to settle into their stride. They came from behind to go on to win 3-1, hitting the post on at least two other occasions in the game.
They have demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the season and their hard work has now paid off as they are confirmed as league champions with this final result! Well done boys!

Tuesday 3rd October 2015 ST MARYS (best football team ever) convincingly beat Scottholme
On Tuesday we were at home. Mossimo and Bob took the kick off. Scottholme came in hard with defending but luckily Vincenzo and Hamish were defending well. We got the ball and played it up front. Michael did a brilliant pass to Mossimo and he took a shot but then he missed and then Michael came and volleyed it straight into the back of the net .
The second goal was amazing St Marys denominated throughout the pitch they - brilliant work from all the team because they all worked hard as a team.
The match carried on with ST MARYS bagging a couple more goals to make the final score 7-0.

St Mary’s secured another 3 points tonight against Bentinck with their third win of the season.
On a small pitch, there was little space for the boys to play their usual passing game and it was Bentinck who took the lead and managed to hold onto that lead going into the half-time break.
St Mary’s remained persistent though, closing Bentinck down well to limit their chances and having many attempts on the Bentinck goal. Their reward came in the form of a scrambled goal which Mossimo managed to get a foot on to poke over the line.
After numerous chances resulting from great attacking play down both wings, it was the sweet right foot of Bob that sent St Mary’s into the lead! Another fantastic strike followed soon after and they managed to hold on to this league until the end.
The team can take great credit out of a first half of the season that has seen their results, and more importantly performances, improve game upon game. Well done to you all!

McKeever Cup 5-A-Side Competition
A team also competed in the McKeever Cup 5-a-side competition for the local Catholic Primary Schools hosted by Trinity. Again they performed fantastically and narrowly missed out on winning the competition to a golden goal scored in extra time in the final! They received runners up awards at the event.
