This club is open every day at 8.00am to children from F2 - Y6 at a cost of £2.50 per day. If you are interested in your child joining, please speak to Mrs Carnell at the school office.
This evening is a time to discuss how your child has settled in and to answer any questions you might have. Please see your child’s teacher to organise an appointment. Foundation 2 staff have organised alternative open sessions for their parents (letter to follow).
Thank you for all your very positive and constructive comments on these questionnaires.
We greatly value your feedback which enables us to evaluate and improve provision for the children of St Mary’s. Teachers are always happy to speak to parents at the end of the day if you have any issues regarding your child. The beginning of the school day is very busy and we like to make a prompt start

The children all look very smart in their new uniforms. Please put your child’s name on simply everything – especially jumpers and cardigans. It makes finding the owner of lost property so much easier. We will be happy to put your child’s name on their school uniform to avoid loss in the future. If you would rather we did not do this please see the class teacher. We would like to stress that your child requires navy shorts, a white t-shirt and plimsolls/trainers for P.E. and it is essential that children also have navy jogging bottoms and a navy sweatshirt as P.E. sessions continue to take place outside in the winter.
White t-shirts and navy shorts (including bag) can be purchased from the office for £6.
Last week, a group of our Year 5 children went to Ilam Hall for a two day music camp where they took part in a range of indoor and outdoor musical activities, team games and walks. They had a fantastic time and especially enjoyed the ‘Night Walk’ where they spotted a sheep with red eyes and heard a phantom trumpeter!!
Last weekend, our Year 6 pupils joined Year 6 children from Our Lady’s school for a wonderful weekend retreat at the Briars Residential Centre, Crich, Derbyshire. The weekend was a time for the children to reflect, pray and join in a variety of team games with children from a different school. We were very proud of our children and how quickly they interacted with their new friends. In their words, they, ‘felt very spiritual and closer to God in a fun way and made some great friends from other schools’.
