We have the facility for you to pay for dinners and school trips online. If you need further details, please speak to Mrs Carnell at the school office. If you would rather pay with cash, dinner money is to be paid on a Monday morning at the school office. For trips, we ask for the correct amount to be placed in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. This will ensure that money does not get lost and will make it easier for the office staff; especially when we have so many different amounts of money coming in at the same time. This evening is a time to discuss how your child has settled in to their new class and to answer any questions you might have regarding your child’s targets for the coming year. Appointment letters will be sent out nearer the time. Once received, please return your slip so your class teacher can arrange an appointment for you. A group of our Year 5 children will be going to Ilam Hall today for a two day music camp where they will be involved in a range of indoor and outdoor musical activities, team games and walks. I am sure they will enjoy this residential as much as other pupils have done in previous years. This year, we will explore and develop the Character Curriculum through our school values, which are; Kindness, Respect, Commitment, Responsibility, Appreciation, Integrity and Resilience. Over the next half term, the Character Strengths that we will be focusing on are; Inclusion, Self-Awareness, Respect and Altruism. These Character Strengths will obviously be explored at an age-appropriate level, using suitable vocabulary. Please look out for your child’s class newsletter detailing the curriculum focus and content, important dates and other useful information for the term.
This term we will be studying the three themes of Domestic Church (Family), Baptism and Confirmation (Belonging) and Advent and Christmas (Loving). Each class will approach the themes through different topics. The children will also spend a week studying Hinduism. The children all look very smart in their new uniforms. Please put your child’s name on everything – especially ties, jumpers and cardigans - it makes finding the owner so much easier. We will be happy to put your child’s name on their school uniform to help avoid any loss. If you would rather we did not do this, please see the class teacher. P.E. shorts, t-shirt and a bag can be purchased from the school office for £7. |
