I kindly ask for the KS1 playground equipment and apparatus not to be used by children before or after school. The staff and I would appreciate your support with this as this equipment is for the children’s use at break times and lunchtimes.
Applications for a school place in the Foundation 2 class next year must be made before 15th January 2018. You must apply on both the Nottingham City Council admission form and the Catholic Schools’ Supplementary form. Applying online is the quickest and easiest way to apply and is completely safe and secure. You will also find step-by-step instructions to help you get started on www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/e-admissions. You will receive an email confirming that Nottingham City Admissions have received your application, giving you total peace of mind.
Please ensure your application contains the necessary evidence to support your request. Last year we had over 120 applications for the 30 places available so it is very important to have your form in on time!
Our Christmas treat for F2-Y6 this year is on Thursday 21st December, when they will see a performance of Aladdin in school. On Wednesday 20th December, F1 pupils will celebrate their Christmas Party. The F1 hours that day will be 10.30am – 1.30pm so that all F1 children can celebrate together.
The children are working hard on their Nativity plays and Christmas Performances. We look forward to seeing you at these special celebrations. All donations from these performances will go to the St. Paul’s Soup Kitchen.
We will be celebrating our Christmas dinner in school on Tuesday 19th December. To mark this event in school, this year we will be wearing our Christmas jumpers. If your child has not got one, please let them wear any jumper and just add a bit of festive bling to it. We ask children to bring in £1 on the day to raise money for Save the Children. At this time of year, it is important to remember to do something for others who are less fortunate than ourselves.
We have organised a Christmas raffle, the proceeds of which will support school funds to help improve the play area between the KS1 and KS2 yards. The tickets are selling fast and there are some amazing prizes to be won - £100 cash and a Paul Smith purse are two of the top prizes. Good luck to all who have purchased tickets. We have plenty more available at the office if you would like some more books. The draw will take place in school on Tuesday 19th December.
On Monday 4th December, our Advent Reflection Day enabled children and staff to reflect more deeply on the season of Advent and help us prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth at Christmas. Children explored how they can best prepare to welcome Jesus into their lives and their homes though a range of enriching activities. All classes came together at the end of the day for a special Advent celebration. Each class is currently collecting hats, scarves, gloves and tinned food to help local people this Advent so any donations are greatly appreciated.
