During the week beginning 9th October, the whole school focused and celebrated Black History. Historian, Dr Jake Hodder, introduced the week through an engaging and interactive assembly. Key Stage 2 explored the life and impact of Marcus Garvey, and Mrs Partow, an artist, worked with pupils from Key Stages 1 and 2 to produce a range of African art. The work during this week has impacted positively on children’s knowledge and appreciation of black culture, heritage and equality for all. The work supports our Character Curriculum and school values, especially children’s personal traits such as respect and responsibility.
