Miss Jones will be leaving us next Wednesday to take up a new position working with adults. I would like to thank Miss Jones for all her hard work in her two terms at this school. Miss Najuk will be joining us next week to teach Yr 4 until the end of the year.
Unfortunately it is with regret that we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Deane, who will be leaving us this term. On behalf of the children, staff, parents/carers and governors, I would like to thank Mrs Deane for her hard work and commitment during her time here at St Mary’s.
Congratulations to Ms O’Neill on the birth of her beautiful baby girl Aoife Rose. Both mum and baby are doing really well and hope to visit the children early in January.
Ms O’Neill is due to go on maternity leave on Friday. We wish her a well-deserved rest before the baby arrives. We will let the children know as soon as we have any exciting news!
During this period Miss O’Sullivan will be taking on the role as Deputy Headteacher and Mrs Thurman will take on the role of SENCO, working alongside Miss O’Sullivan.
It is with a certain amount of regret that I have to tell you Mr Whyte will be leaving us in July to take up an opportunity to study for a PHD in ICT. It goes without saying that he will be sadly missed by us all.

On behalf of the Governors, staff and children I would like to thank Mrs Gethings for ‘25 years’ hard work and commitment to St Mary’s School. Over this period she has ensured that all aspects of school administration and finance are carried out to an exceptionally high standard. Since becoming an academy, this has been a mammoth job and to her credit, our auditors have yet to find any issues to address and commend her for her efficiency. Mrs Gethings is always professional and is a very calm and caring member of our school community. Regardless of her workload, nothing is ever too much for her!
We welcome Mrs Thurman back from her maternity leave. She will job share Foundation 2 class with Mrs Hayes next term. Both teachers are very experienced Foundation teachers and already have spent time with the children to ensure there is a smooth transition. It is with regret that I have to tell you that Mrs Stawiarska will be leaving us in July to re-locate to London.
