Sports Ambassadors

Young Ambassador Programme

Once again, four children from Year 5 have taken part in this programme. They have taken part in a series of workshops and training in order to equip them with ideas and leadership skills. They are now working with our younger children during break times.

Young Ambassadors Conference

Last year´s group were so impressive, they were invited back to the conference to give a presentation to the new recruits.

The following email was received from Rebecca Mason of School Sport Nottingham after the event:
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to St Marys HG for bringing your Yr. 6 Young Ambassadors to the conference yesterday. They delivered a brilliant presentation and shared their work with us all. Many schools were so impressed with their manifesto and laminated cards! You can really see how they have all grown in confidence over the past year and are a great asset to the school due to the support they receive from you and the other staff.

This year, we selected four, Year 5 Sports Ambassadors to take part in some leadership training with School Sport Nottingham. They have now successfully completed their training for this year.

They have developed good leadership skills and successfully planned, promoted and delivered a variety of physical activities over the term. They gave their final presentation at Ellis Guilford Sports Centre last week, where they were awarded their special hoodies.

Each one features their own initials.  The leaders will now go on to support the next group of leaders in their role next year, promoting physical activity at break times amongst our younger children.
