Y1 Art

Our F2 Work

We Are Artists in F2

We looked at the painting from the artist Kandinsky.  We loved the colours and circles that he used so much that some of us decided to make our own versions of his painting. Mrs Mullen and Mrs Harrison thought that they were better than the real thing!

Sunflowers by Van Gogh

We looked at the painting, ‘Sunflowers’ by Van Gogh and we made some collage flower pictures of our own.  We loved the painting so much that some children chose to be artists themselves and made their own version of Van Gogh’s sunflowers.

Our F1 Work

Winter Trees

After a winter walk around the school setting, we recreated winter trees through art experiences.  We used the blow painting technique to create the tree trunk and then added glitter and sequins to represent frost.  We had to try and remember to blow the paint and not suck it up through the straws!

Construction

Some of the children in F1 are developing the skill of planning their construction models before building them.  They think carefully about what they are going to create and the objects they need before they start creating.  When they have finished their construction, they draw a picture of their model.

Their drawings are then celebrated by being added to the construction wall for everyone to view. The model drawings are used by the children’s friends to give them ideas when building in the construction area!
