Y2 History

Superheroes in Year 2

Our topic this term is Heroes and the children have enjoyed reading about fictional and real life heroes. They especially enjoyed the story of Nat Fantastic, a little boy who changes into a superhero to rescue people from different situations. They have become heroes themselves for our wonderful display after making their own superhero masks.

Our Y1 Work

Great Fire of London

On Monday 29th January, Year 1 took part in a Partake Theatre group production about the Great Fire of London.  We all got to dress up as people from 1666 and act out the events of the fire.  We learnt that the fire began in a bakery on Pudding Lane and we used ribbons to represent the fire getting bigger and bigger.  The baker’s name was Tom Farriner and he had left his oven on overnight.  Lots of people passed buckets of water from the Thames in an attempt to put out the fire.
