Y4 Art

Y4 channelled their inner Van Gogh to complete a self-portrait of themselves. After snapping a picture and cutting it in half, the children used pencil crayons and water colours to bring their sketches to life.

Art Day

On Wednesday June 7th, Mrs Pardow came in to lead an Art Day in Year 2. The theme of the day was William Morris and nature to fit in with our work in History and Science. The children learned all about the Victorian artist and then completed activities including sketching, paper work and decoupage. It was a wonderful day and lots of amazing artwork was produced.

Christmas Craft Day

In December, we held a Christmas Craft and Wear a Christmas Jumper Day throughout school.  It was a wonderful day that was over all too quickly.  The children in Year 2 made Christmas decorations to hang on their trees and Christmas cards for their parents and carers.

Gardens

On Wednesday 9th March, the whole school was very lucky to have a production team in to perform ‘Tom’s Midnight Garden’.

Year 1 used the story to imagine our own magical gardens and create descriptive writing.

We also used paints to produce a picture of our gardens.  We recognised the importance of completing painting in steps to allow it to dry and add further detail.

‘I love painting and my garden is beautiful.’
