Y5 Design and Technology
As part of our China topic, and to embrace Chinese cuisine Year 5 made sweet and sour sesame noodles. It took a lot of chopping, but we got there in the end. It was a quick and healthy meal that most of us enjoyed!
“I enjoyed cooking in school because I don’t usually cook at home. I found using the scales interesting and how to set them to zero.” Joshua.
“I loved chopping the chives and I liked eating the bread later on at home with Mummy and Daddy.” Jagoda.
Our Y4 Work
The children had a great time making butternut squash scones. We learned how to make dough and how to knead like a real baker! Of course, the best part was getting to taste our creations!
Our Year 3 Work...
On Monday December 15th, the children brought in ingredients to make the sandwiches they had designed.
They had to design a sandwich that had healthy ingredients from each of the food groups.
On the day, the children made sure they had washed their hands and that the surface was clean. They then cut and prepared the fillings independently, before making and presenting their sandwich.
The final step was to taste their sandwich and evaluate it, deciding if there were any improvements that could have been made.
