Our Y5 Work
To kick start our volcano topic, we made two different types of eruptions to resemble shield and composite volcanoes. We even opened them up to see how they were made, which helped us understand the main differences between them.
A shield volcano is flat in shape because its lava is thin and flows down during an eruption.
A composite volcano is a mountainous shape. These volcanoes erupt violently, and the lava is thicker so it trickles out and creates a cone-like shape.
