Jubilee Year 2025
Pilgrims of Hope
“Pilgrims of Hope” is the theme for the 2025 Jubilee Year, and it means that we are all travelers on a journey with God, filled with hope. Just like pilgrims who travel to holy places, we are invited to walk with faith, trust in God’s love, and share kindness with others. Being a pilgrim of hope means believing that even when things are hard, God is with us, helping us move forward with joy and courage.
Big Lent Walk
During our Big Lent Walk, EYFS and KS1 children enjoyed a walk around the school grounds. As they did so, they stopped at prayer stations to participate in activities to help them think about people in need across the world. The stations were beautifully prepared by our KS2 children. Our KS2 children made their own pilgrimage walking from St Mary’s all the way to St Barnabas Cathedral. We were joined by parents, our chaplain Tim and of course our Jubilee mascot Luce. All money raised from our Big Lent Wal. was donated to support CAFOD,
CAFOD Jubilee National Icon
Some of our chaplaincy children welcomed our CAFOD Jubilee National Icon yesterday. This beautiful icon was written in Ethiopia. There are 36 schools to visit on this pilgrimage, and we were number 12! We wish the Trust Chaplains all the best on the rest of their pilgrimage.
Pilgrimage to the Vatican
As part of the Jubilee Year celebrations, Mrs McDonald had the special opportunity to visit the Vatican on pilgrimage with her family. This Holy Year, themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” is a time of spiritual renewal for Catholics worldwide. The visit deepened their understanding of faith, prayer, and Catholic tradition.
