About our Parish
St Paul and St Mary’s is a welcoming Catholic parish serving the communities of Lenton and Hyson Green in Nottingham. Led by Fr Joe Wheat, the parish is known for its joyful spirit and strong sense of community. Families are always greeted with warmth, and children are encouraged to grow in faith through school, parish life, and special celebrations. Whether you’re attending Mass, joining in parish events, or simply looking for a place to explore your faith, St Paul and St Mary’s offers a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone is invited to encounter Jesus and feel part of a loving Church family.
Fr Joe
Fr Joe Wheat is our parish priest so he looks after St Mary’s and St Paul churches and he is also Catholic chaplain to Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham. Fr Joe was born and raised in Nottingham, so he knows the city really well and is a season ticket holder at the mighty Nottingham Forest. He’s worked a lot with Catholic schools wherever he’s been posted, so is really happy to have such a great primary school in the parish!
